Product range. The brand that has attracted a cult following as a maker of footwear (mostly, sneakers and trainers) with a characteristic pre-scuffed look. Golden Goose copy the styles of iconic footwear by Conversе, Vans, and adidas, dye and smudge them, sprinkle with glitter, and then add a handmade, distressed touch. Nowadays, Golden Goose Deluxe Brand offer menswear, womenswear, footwear, and accessories: orange and petrol green biker jackets, cargo jackets, hoodies, and T-shirts emblazoned with text messages typed in 'old school' font styles.

Chic and relevance. All items by Golden Goose have a touch of retro, as if they were pre-loved. Rubber soles of sneakers are smudged throughout, pants look creased, suit jackets are so 1980s-ish oversized, while hats mimic the styles that were in vogue in the first half of the XX century.

That said, Golden Goose pieces look anything but dated. Lookbooks that feature pre-scuffed footwear really shine. In fact, these profusely decorated with crystals and pre-dirtied £500 sneakers are worn only by leggy posh blondes who pair them with leopard fur coats.

Pricing. Outerwear costs about £1,250, sneakers and trainers are £200 and more, hoodies are £250.

Corporate history highlights. The married Venetian designer duo of Alessandro Gallo and Francesca Rinaldo founded Golden Goose Deluxe Brand in 2000. They started out by buying up and remaking vintage clothes. They made and sold their first batch backed up by a friend, a Venetian tradition’s tailor of some notice. The experiment proved a success and the couple decided to launch their own fashion brand of lace-ups and streetwear with a pre-scuffed look as its unique selling proposition.
