Originality. The items offered by American Eagle are uncomplicated, they are mostly loosely fit, come in pure and natural colours and are made from fabrics that are pleasurable to be touch and wear. Everything by American Eagle has a touch of grunge fashion to it.

Chic. Apparel by American Eagle is anything but over-the-top in terms of its relevance, it could rather be best described as clean-cut and unassuming.

Pricing. Affordable clothing with an average price per piece of €20-€30. Low price point notwithstanding, the items are all of decent quality. It's often the case that they look more expensive than their price tags would want us to believe.

Corporate history highlights. In 1977, Silverman brothers launched their chain of mall-based menswear stores branded as American Eagle Outfitters, then a part of Silvermans Menswear, Inc. By the early 1980s the company could boast a network of 177 in the USA. In the 1990s, however, the company saw hard times that triggered it subsequent repositioning. Eventually, American Eagle switched to making casual apparel for men and women. In 2006, the company launched its lingerie, homewear and sportswear sister brand Aerie.
