Originality. As the Walk of Sham website has it, "Collections capture the spirit of easy-going Moscow rooftop summer nights, raves and grunge of the 1990s, and freedom and abundance of the 2000s". Andrey Artyomov, the brand's founder is said to draw his inspiration from "his school years in Ufa, endless Moscow revelries, and the DJ sets of inspiring friends", which essentially rings true.

Chic. Walk of Shame manage to be edgy and, which merits notice, reveal the genius loci of the brand's founder native place. This authenticity, in spite of the lack of blunt references to his past, has helped elevate the brand to prominence.

Pricing. Dresses cost about £550, tops and pants are £225 and above, outerwear starts from £700.

Corporate history highlights. Andrey Artyomov graduated from Ural State Institute of Services Studies with a major in Costume Design and then left his native Ufa for Moscow to polish his skills. There, however, he was soon hired by L'Officiel fashion magazine and he has eventually settled in Moscow for good. He launched Walk of Shame in 2011. Nowadays, pieces by Walk of Shame are worn by the likes of Elle Fanning and Rihanna.
